Bollywood actor Chrisann Pereira who was arrested in Dubai after allegedly being framed in  a drugs smuggling case, has finally been freed from jail. The actor’s brother took to his social media account on Wednesday night to share a video of Chrisann calling her family after getting out of Sharjah jail.

Taking to his Instagram account, Chrisann’s brother Kevin Pereira posted a video with the caption, “Chrisann is SET FREE!!! She will be in India in the next 48 hours.” In the video, Chrisann’s mother could be seen dancing on the news of her daughter coming back to India, while Chrisann cried on the call. Several social media users took to the comments section of Kevin Pereira reacting to the news. One user wrote, “We are grateful to each one of you for your prayers love support n help towards Chrisann's release for justice.” Another comment read, “We are so so happy for you and your family! Cannot imagine what you were all going through. The grace and perseverance your family displayed is admirable. Wishing you all peaceful family time together.”

For the unversed, Chrisann Pereira, who has been a part of several Bollywood films including Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s Sadak 2, was arrested earlier this month in Sharjah by authorities. The actor was jailed after she was found carrying drugs in a trophy. The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested two people on charges of framing the Bollywood actor in connection with the drug-smuggling case. The duo reportedly planted the drugs on the actor in order to get revenge.
