Cicada Trailer: The much-anticipated trailer for the upcoming Malayalam movie has finally been released, creating a buzz among movie enthusiasts. Directed and written by Sreejith Edavana, Cicada promises to be a gripping survival thriller. The movie features Rajith Menon, Jaise Jose and Gayathry Mayura in pivotal roles. This project is particularly special for Edavana as it marks his debut as both a writer and director. Cicada will be released in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil, making it accessible to a broader audience. Cicada releases in theatres on August 9, 2024. 

The trailer, which dropped on July 27, 2024, has already garnered significant attention, amassing more than 2 lakh views on YouTube. Fans have flooded the comment section with praise and excitement. One viewer shared, "Indeed, exciting. Looking forward. All the very best, Team CICADA." Another added, "Super. Sounds so exciting. All the best team."

Earlier, Sreejith Edavana unveiled the first poster of Cicada on Instagram, expressing his excitement about the project. He captioned it, "Yes, we have started to fly. Here’s the first look. Poster of our movie titled Cicada. A dream come true moment. My first movie as writer/director." The poster was also launched by Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas, along with around 60 other actors from the industry who shared it on their social media platforms, further boosting the film's visibility.

Cicada is produced by Vandana Menon and Gopakumar P under the banner of Thirna Films and Entertainment. The film's cinematography is handled by Naveen Raj, while Shajith Kumaran is responsible for editing. The lyrics for the movie's songs are penned by Vivek. The film was shot across various locations, including Bengaluru, Kochi and Attapadi, adding to its visual appeal.

Sreejith Edavana, known for his work as a music director in the album Oh My Mandhakini, directed by Rahul Tilak, brings his unique vision to Cicada, creating anticipation for what promises to be an exciting cinematic experience.
