Malayalam comedy film 'Corona Dhavan' is all set to release on the OTT platform after its theatrical run. Set in a village Anathadham, the movie focuses on a group of alcoholics and the problems they face to buy liquor during the COVID-19 lockdown. CC Nithin made his directorial debut with this film and it stars Lukman Avaran and Sreenath Bhasi in the lead roles.

In an interview with Cinema Express, director CC Nitin talked about how he came up with the plot of his film. "If you remember, there were numerous viral videos of people getting picked up by the police for stepping out of their homes unnecessarily and getting chased by surveillance drones. I shared some of these hilarious videos with Sujoy and asked him if he could come up with something interesting," he said.

He further told Cinema Express, "Within three days, he narrated a base idea with a superb opening and ending. I was impressed with the structure, which is crucial because you can't just stitch together viral videos and make a film. The audience should feel some sort of an emotional connect, and I felt Sujoy had it covered."

Talking about working with Lukman and Sreenath Bhasi, CC Nitin said, "I wanted my characters to look real and familiar. That's how I got all my actors, including Lukman, (Sreenath) Bhasi, and Johnny (Antony) chettan.

'Corona Dhavan' also stars Johny Antony, Irshad Ali, Sruthy Jayan, Seema G. Nair, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Shivaji Guruvayoor, and Sunil Sukhada in the supporting roles.
