The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4 saw the show featuring famous educators rather than movie stars. Kapil Sharma was seen interacting with famous educators such as Alakh Pandey, Nitin Vijay, and Khan Sir. Khan Sir shared about his tough days as a student and why he said no to an enormous job offer of Rs 107 crore.

‘We Used To Stand On The Train Doorway’: Khan Sir

While sharing his experiences during his early days of life, Khan Sir spoke about the difficulties he had to face during his student days. Khan Sir recalled, “For us, it was a dream to study in Kota. We couldn’t even afford reserved train tickets. We used to stand near the train door and sit there quietly. We were scared of being fined Rs 400.”

He also spoke about the expensive coaching centres. “How could I pay Rs 1 lakh just to see a teacher’s face? In those days, there was no online option. Studying outside meant spending almost Rs 2 lakh,” he said.

Why He Rejected Rs 107 Crore Offer

Kapil asked him what he would have done if he were offered the amount of Rs 107 crore to decline the opportunity. Khan Sir replied, “I have not forgotten those days or the pain in my feet. I knew many students still face the same problems. So if I ever got a chance, I would not choose that path.”

Khan Sir further added, “When even Ravan’s empire could not last, what is Rs 107 crore? The company that offered me that money does not even exist now.”

An offer was given to increase coaching fees

Khan revealed that the offer was made to hike the coaching fees. “They think that premium education deserves premium prices. But we have worked hard to become the biggest education channel while keeping prices low. Now, who will question the quality of our education?” he added.

He also revealed that during the lockdown, he used to coach the students for only Rs 11. “Today, 100 to 150 of those kids work at Mumbai Railway Station. There is hardly any department where there isn’t a student of ours,” he added.
