Despite their widespread popularity, streaming platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar sometimes encounter delays in finalizing agreements to stream certain movies and web series. Here's a rundown of upcoming releases that have experienced delays but will soon be available on these platforms. Additionally, some movies that were slated for theatrical release have faced unexpected delays due to controversies surrounding their storylines.

Here is a list of upcoming delayed OTT and theatrical releases that will be out soon:

Delayed OTT and Theatrical Releases: 

Maharaj

The Gujarat High Court has issued a temporary injunction on the release of 'Maharaj', a Netflix film featuring Junaid Khan, the son of Aamir Khan. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF Entertainment, the film was originally scheduled for release on Friday, June 14.

Hamare Baarah

The film was originally set for release on June 7, but the Bombay High Court halted it after Azhar Basha Tamboli filed a complaint. Tamboli claimed that the movie misinterpreted the Quran and depicted Muslims negatively.

Aadujeevitham

Despite its box office success, the highly anticipated film 'Aadujeevitham' starring Prithviraj Sukumaran faces a delay in its streaming release due to unsold OTT rights. Disney+ Hotstar, a significant player in the streaming market, has not acquired the rights to the film, contributing to the postponement.

Mirzapur Season 3

Season 3 of Mirzapur is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video from July 5, 2024. The web series is being released after months of postponement.

Kota Factory Season 3

Scheduled to premiere on Netflix starting June 20, the third season of 'Kota Factory' continues its focus on a group of students striving to succeed in entrance exams for prestigious institutions like the IITs and the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), mirroring its predecessors.

Pushpa 2: The Rule

Earlier scheduled for release on August 15, 2024, Allu Arjun-starrer movie Pushpa 2 has faced an unexpected postponement. The movie will now hit the theatres on December 6, 2024.
