'Project K' has set the internet on fire ever since its first glimpse was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con event. The movie promises to be an epic science fiction film with inspiration from Indian mythology and has now been titled 'Kalki 2898 AD'. In the teaser, the viewers saw a glimpse of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan but were not able to find Kamal Haasan in the video.

At the event, Rana Daggubati asked director Nag Ashwin, "Where is Kamal Haasan sir in the teaser?" To this, he replied, "Sir is there throughout the teaser, but you don't know." This has left the audience even more curious about Kamal Haasan's role in 'Kalki 2898 AD'. For the unversed, Kamal Haasan will be seen as an antagonist in the film.

Kamal Haasan also praised Amitabh Bachchan and said, "We are very honoured to be living with Amitji’s energy. We make stories and audiences make stars. You really understand it when you see Amithab ji, Prabhas & Rana perform."

To this, Amitabh Bachchan replied, "Stop being modest Kamal, You're much much greater there ever than all of us"

'Kalki 2898 AD' created history even before its release by becoming the first Indian film to be launched at San Diego Comic-Con event.

Talking about the launch, director Nag Ashwin said in a statement, "We are thrilled to present ‘Project K”s debut at San Diego Comic-Con. India’s storytelling tradition has ancient roots, with its epics serving as the origins for many civilizations worldwide. A world as big as this needs a platform as big to introduce it to the people. Comic-Con felt like the perfect place, where the honesty and enthusiasm needed for ‘Project K’ will be found.”

Deepika Padukone was supposed to attend San Diego Comic-Con along with Prabhas and Kamal Haasan but she was not present at the event. According to reports, Deepika did not attend the launch of 'Project K' at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in the wake of the ongoing strike by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (SAG-AFTRA) in the US. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA and the union has reportedly specified that actors cannot provide promotional or publicity services.

'Project K' will release in theatres on January 12, 2024. The movie also stars Disha Patani in the pivotal role.
