Diljit Dosanjh's highly anticipated Dil-Luminati Tour 2024 is stirring up excitement, but it has also drawn controversy. A Delhi-based fan named Riddhima Kapoor, who is also a law student, has sent a legal notice to the popular singer, accusing him and the event organizers of manipulating ticket prices and engaging in unfair trade practices.
As per Free Press Journal report, the legal notice claims that the ticket booking process was manipulated, creating artificial demand and inflating prices. Riddhima had specifically acquired an HDFC credit card to take advantage of early-bird passes, which were supposed to go on sale at 1 PM on September 12, 2024. However, she stated that tickets were made available at 12:59 PM, and despite her efforts to book passes, they were sold out within minutes. Although the money was deducted from her account, her ticket purchase was unsuccessful and the amount was later refunded.

In her notice, Riddhima alleges that these actions indicate "scalping and hoarding of tickets," which violate consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. She has also accused the concert organizers of bad faith and unfair practices, which she believes were designed to resell tickets at inflated prices. Besides Diljit Dosanjh, the legal notice has been sent to other entities involved, including Zomato, HDFC Bank and Saregama Pvt Ltd. As of now, none of these parties have responded to the notice.
Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour is set to kick off at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 26, 2024. The tour will take him across several cities, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh and Guwahati. In addition to the tour, Diljit recently released a song titled Chal Kudiye from his upcoming film Jigra with Alia Bhatt. He is also set to star in the much-anticipated sequel Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, alongside Varun Dhawan.
