About Amaran

The story is set against the backdrop of the Qazipathri Operation in Shopian, Kashmir, which took place back in 2014. It will focus on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan and his sacrifice to the nation. The movie was directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. It features Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Shreekumar, Suresh Chakravarthy and Lallu Prasath in key roles. The movie is scheduled to be released in theatres on October 31.

In an interview with India Today, Rajkumar said “People think that Amaran is a war film. However, I have to say that it is not. It's a slice-of-life drama about a soldier. Amaran is more about their family, situation in Kashmir and the role of the Army. I was very careful in not incorporating my political ideology into the film.”

Apart from Amaran, Sai Pallavi will be also seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Lara Dutta in key roles.
