Dream Girl 2 Box Office Collection Day 7: Ayushmann Khurrana’s Comic Punch Shows Modest Surge; Inches Closer To Rs 70 Cr

'Dream Girl 2' Box Office Collection Day 7: Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday’s recent venture ‘Dream Girl 2’ is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. The comedy-drama is a sequel to the 2019 film and has benefited from the Raksha Bandhan holiday. In the film, Ayushmann Khurrana can be seen essaying the role of Karam/Pooja and Ananya Panday his lady love as Pari. ‘Dream Girl 2’ hit theatres on August 25. The film is holding well and will cross the Rs 70 Crore mark soon. However, it needs to mark its pace as Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ will soon take over the box office on September 7.

Helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film started off on a positive note by collecting a whopping Rs 10.69 Crore in India. On Day 7, the film minted Rs 8 Crore, taking the total collection to be around Rs 67.50 Crore. It remains to be seen how the film performs before Shah Rukh Khan’s entry in theatres next week.

Talking about the plot of the film, ‘Dream Girl 2’ follows the journey of a small-town boy Karam trying to live a serious life in Mathura. He falls in love with Pari, however with a twist, a turn of misfortunate events leads to a chaotic choice.

The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor, Seema Pahwa, Manoj Joshi, Abhishek Banerjee and Manjot Singh in pivotal roles.
