During the promotion of 'King Of Kotha', Dulquer was asked if he would be seen in 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Without revealing many details about the film, he said that he was blown away after seeing the sets of the film. “I can’t reveal anything about Project K. I’ll just tell you, I went to the sets and was blown away (by its grandiose nature). Only Nagi (Nag Ashwin) can think like that. He’s a director who never fails to surprise. Be it 'Yevade Subramanyam' or 'Mahanati' and then he goes on to do 'Project K', which is set in the future. The sets were so amazing. But I don’t know if I am in the film or not,” he said.

Apart from Prabhas, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani. Big B will be seen as Ashwatthama, who is immortal and waiting for the return of Kalki. For the unversed, Ashwatthama has been mentioned in the epic Mahabharata. Ashwatthama is the son of Dronacharya and Kripi and is believed to be the fifth avatar of Lord Shiva. According to the Mahabharata, Ashwatthama’s name means “the sacred voice, similar to that of a horse.” He is named so because he cried like a horse at the time of his birth.

Keerthy Suresh has also joined the cast of 'Kalki 2898 AD' but will only give her voice to the character named Bujji. The movie will hit the theatres on June 27, 2024.
