Ed Sheeran’s - = / x India tour is currently on and the star had a concert in Chennai yesterday. The fans present in the stadium might never forget the day as they witnessed the collaboration of two of the biggest musicians on stage. Yes, Ed Sheeran and AR Rahman set the stage on fire as they performed in Urvashi Urvashi and Shape Of You. Fans went gaga over the collaboration and started rooting for them. For the unversed, Urvashi Urvashi is a popular hit number from the 1994 Tamil movie Kadhalan. Whereas, Shape Of You is from Sheeran’s 2017 studio album. 

BookMyShow shared the video on its social media handles with the caption, “Global meets local, and the crowd went wild! Urvashi will never be the same. #ARRXED.” 

Fans on social media could not stop gushing over the mashup. A user said, “It was a blast show @teddysphotos hope to see you in chennai soon.” A comment read, “The crossover we all waited at @coldplay @arrahman.” A fan said, “two legends.” Another fan said, “What an Amazing Concert !!! It was awesome.” An admirer demanded, “Loved it There is another version of Shape of you X Mann Mera.. wish we could see that too.” A fan said, “Pretty sure this concert must have earned 105 crores.” 

Ed Sheeran also took to his Instagram account to share a glimpse of his performance with AR Rahman. He wrote in the caption of the post, “What an honor @arrahman.” 

Ahead of the Chennai concert, Ed Sheeran met AR Rahman and his son AR Ameen. They shared a post which had a couple of pictures. In one photo, the trio can be seen posing for the camera and flashing their smiles. In another photo, Ed can be seen clicking pictures of AR Rahman while he was playing the keyboard. Notably, the British singer is on six-city India tour which includes Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Shillong and Delhi-NCR.
