Family Star Box Office Collection Day 4: Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur's Telugu starrer hit theaters on April 5. Directed by Parasuram Petla, the film is a heartwarming family drama centered on a middle-class man's relentless efforts to safeguard his friends, family, and beloved ones from life's challenges. As this spirited young man encounters his romantic interest, it catalyzes profound transformations within him. Despite garnering a satisfactory response from viewers, Family Star is struggling to pull audience to theaters.
Family Star Box Office Report
On its opening day, Family Star managed to rake in Rs 5.75 crore. According to Sacnilk, the film garnered Rs 1.25 crore on its fourth day, bringing its total earnings in India to Rs 13.55 crore thus far. Released in both Tamil and Telugu, the film recorded occupancy rates of 16.21 percent and 13.14 percent respectively in these regions.
Despite its initial setback at the box office, attributed to negative online campaigns targeting Vijay Deverakonda, the film repoetdly faced a backlash in its first three days. In response, the film's fan association and producers lodged a cybercrime complaint against the involved accounts.
Addressing the same, Vijay at the event, said, "I don’t understand, are people genuinely confused or are they just looking to troll us? We have all grown up seeing lavish dream sequences in films. No one here is stupid enough to make a film where a hero asks the heroine to pay money for petrol but has a lavish wedding. But even then, so what if he is middle class? Couldn’t he have done better for himself through the story? Let’s watch the film before jumping to conclusions."
About Family Star
Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda infused a fresh energy into their onscreen pairing, delivering praiseworthy performances. The movie delves deeply into the complexities of a middle-class family, exploring their struggles with financial constraints, emotional bonds, and romantic aspirations.
Vijay and Mrunal portray a couple caught in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions as they navigate their path towards mutual understanding. Parasuram Petla assumes the dual role of writer and director for the film, produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC) under the guidance of Dil Raju and Sirish. Vasu Varma contributes as the co-writer. Gopi Sundar is responsible for the captivating soundtrack and background score, while cinematography is expertly handled by K U Mohanan.
