Farhan Akhtar, the multi-talented Bollywood star is celebrating his 50th birthday on January 9 and the actor has received some lovely wishes from his family and friends. Bollywood actor and his father’s second wife Shabana Azmi has wished the actor a happy birthday in an adorable Instagram post. The post has a photograph where Akhtar’s family can be seen together for a grand yet intimate birthday celebration. Zoya Akhtar, Honey Irani, Javed Akhtar, Shabana herself, wife Shibani Dandekar and others got together for the occasion. Shabana Azmi in her post wrote, “Salgirah mubarak betu #FarhanAkhtar. The post is getting a lot of love from fans. A fan wrote, “Aapne jis tarah Farhan ji ko betu kaha wo bahut hi pyara hai...aise laga aap hum men se ek hain and not a distant celebrity” (The way you referred to Farhan as ‘betu’ is endearing as it made me feel that you are one of us and not a celebrity), appreciating the actor’s relatable wish like that of any other mother for her son. Another user on Instagram wrote, “You have such a lovely family” emphasising the family’s bond that was visible in the photograph.

Farhan Akhtar is the son of lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani. Javed Akhtar later married Shabana Azmi in 1984 and later divorced Irani in 1985. Farhan Akhtar founded the production company Excel Entertainment and made his directorial debut with the classic 2001 film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. He is directing ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, starring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. He co-produced the 2023 film ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ on Netflix.
