New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Ranveer Singh has established himself as a versatile actor with some of the critically acclaimed movies in Bollywood. Today, the actor has completed 9 years in the Hindi film industry. Ranveer, who started his Bollywood career with Band Baaja Baraat (2010) opposite Anushka Sharma has given numerous hits in his career so far, which includes movies like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), Gunday (2014), Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), Bajirao Mastani (2015), Padmaavat (2018), Simmba(2018) and Gully Boy (2019).

Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to celebrate his journey and shared a picture from his debut film 'Band Baaja Baarat' and captioned it as “It was all a dream 9 years to the day #ifyouknowyouknow”. 'Band Baaja Baaraat' was a romantic-comedy film directed by Maneesh Sharma.

Ranveer Singh also won the Best Male Debut Award at the 56th Filmfare Award for portraying the role of Bittu Sharma in his debut film. The actor won Best Actor Award at the 61st Filmfare Awards for portraying as Bajirao in 'Bajirao Mastani' (2015). And who can forget the role of a ruthless king 'Alauddin Khilji' which swept us off our feet.

 

Talking about Ranveer Singh's role in periodic drama Padmaavat, which also starred Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh, was and is one of his most appreciated roles till date. The film at the time of the release had faced a lot of controversies by Karni Sena who threatened to attack the lead actors and the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. After its release, Padmaavat earned Rs 585 crores at the box office.

After 'Padmaavat', 'Gully Boy' turned out to be a huge success at the box office. The film struck the right chord with the audience and Ranveer Singh as Murad Ahmed not only made noise in 'Meri Gully Mein' but managed to enter Oscars 2020. The film tells the story of a rapper from a Mumbai Chawl who dreams of making it big in the world of music and delivering a straight message - "where there is a will, there is a way".

Talking about the upcoming projects, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in the '83' a biopic on cricket legend Kapil Dev. Sharing the first look of the film, Ranveer as Kapil Dev looks uncanny. Here's Ranveer Singh acing the iconic 'Natraj shot' like a pro.

The upcoming film is even more special as wife Deepika Padukone will be seen playing Ranveer's reel-life better half.
