JE Entertainment Desk: Tamannaah Bhatia recently took her fans by surprise by doing some bold and intimate scenes in the web series 'Jee Karda'. The actress faced criticism and was trolled for doing the intimate scenes, whereas, some fans praised Tamannaah for her bold choices.

However, this is not the first time, South Indian actresses went bold for their movies as per the script requirements.

1. Anushka Shetty

Anushka Shetty went bold for her film 'Vikramarkudu' co-starring Ravi Teja. The movie was a blockbuster which increased Anushka's popularity across the country and it was remade in Hindi as 'Rowdy Rathore'.

2. Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the 'girl-next-door' role at the start of her career. After gaining huge popularity, the actress started doing more female-centric films and took some bold roles as well. She surprised the audience with her bold avatar in 'The Family Man' and 'Super Delux'.

3. Priyamani

Priyamani is one of the most successful actresses in the South Indian film industry and has worked in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films. She has also donned a bold avatar in many films and has received appreciation for her stellar performances. She has stepped into Bollywood as well with the web series 'The Family Man'.

4. Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan has found popularity in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil film industry and will soon star in the big-budgeted film 'Salaar'. In 2013, she chose to do an unconventional role in 'D-Day' and went bold for her role. She received the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance.

Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia recently opened up about the truth of not doing intimate scenes for a long time after having a no-kiss policy for 18 long years. "I was that audience that would get awkward and I was that audience that 'main ye kabhi nahi karungi', 'Main kabhi nahi kiss karungi on screen," she told Pinkvilla.

She added, "Because India is huge and there are so many parts of India that still need to evolve. There is a lot of evolution that has happened already, thanks to even the internet and social media, everyone has information at their fingertips but I do feel like- because everyone's consuming so much content-I felt like as an actor, I don't want this to be something that is holding me back."

"And this was purely a creative endeavour. Abhi 18 saal ke baad I am not trying to be famous, you know. Like that's not my endeavour or driving force," Tamannaah explained.

Tamannaah will also star in Netflix's film 'Lust Stories 2' along with Vijay Varma.
