The Real Story Of 'Scoop':

Jigna Vora was accused of the murder of Jyotirmoy Dey in 2012. Dey reportedly specialized in writing about the underworld and was shot dead in June 2011 by motorcycle-borne sharpshooters. The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested seven sharpshooters from different locations, who belonged to Chhota Rajan's gang. Later, Jigna Vora's name was added to the charge sheet by the Crime Branch. She was reportedly under the police's radar since July 2011 and was accused of inciting underworld don Chhota Rajan to kill fellow Dey in 2011. Bora was granted bail in July 2012.

The trial court acquitted Vora and another accused Joseph Paulson of all charges in 2018. Later, the government appealed against their acquittal in the Bombay High Court and the Bombay HC supported the trial court's judgement.

In its judgement, the Bombay HC said that the case against Vora was made primarily on several phone calls and some witnesses and none of the phone calls established that the killing was carried out at Jigna Vora's orders. Therefore, she was acquitted of all charges.

Hansal Mehta on Casting Karishma Tanna:

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Hansal Mehta talked about his decision of casting Karishma Tanna for the show. "I enjoy casting as much as shooting, and that process of surprising myself. Karishma was just that. There were a lot of accomplished actors in the room that auditioned for the part of Jagruti, but I found Karishma to be hungrier than them and that’s what I wanted for Jagruti. I didn’t want intellectual baggage," he told Hindustan Times.
