HBO has officially confirmed that Euphoria Season 3 is in production. The network released a first-look image of Zendaya as Rue, putting an end to cancellation rumours that had been circulating due to production delays.

The highly anticipated third season comes three years after the last installment, with Zendaya returning to her Emmy-winning role despite a packed film schedule, including Spider-Man 4 and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Fans had feared that her commitments to blockbuster films might keep her from reprising her role in the HBO drama, but the latest update confirms her involvement.

Many key cast members from previous seasons are expected to return, including Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Colman Domingo and Eric Dane. However, Barbie Ferreira and Storm Reid have confirmed they won’t be part of the new season and the late Angus Cloud’s role as Fezco will likely be written out following his tragic passing in 2023.

HBO’s decision to release a first-look image not only reassures fans but also signals strong support for series creator Sam Levinson. In November 2024, HBO/Max head Casey Bloys addressed speculation about potential delays, stating, “We are shooting this season, so nothing has changed.”

What to Expect in Season 3?

The upcoming season is set to feature a five-year time jump, shifting the characters into new life stages. While specific plot details remain under wraps, earlier reports suggested that script issues and creative disagreements—including Zendaya’s reported dissatisfaction—may have contributed to delays.

With nine Emmy wins and a dedicated fanbase, Euphoria remains one of HBO’s most talked-about series.
