Holi 2025 OTT Watchlist
Emergency
Emergency, a 2025 Indian Hindi-language historical biographical drama film, was directed and co-produced by Kangana Ranaut. The film is based on the Indian Emergency and stars Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Although initially scheduled for release on September 6, 2024, it was postponed due to certification issues and eventually released on January 17, 2025, to mixed-to-negative reviews and underwhelming box office performance. Emergency will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix starting 17 March 2025.
Ponman
The 2025 Indian Malayalam-language dark comedy film Ponman (translating to "Kingfisher" or literally "Gold man") is directed by Jothish Shankar. The movie boasts a talented cast, including Basil Joseph, Sajin Gopu, Lijomol Jose, Anand Manmadhan, and Deepak Parambol. Based on GR Indugopan's novel Naalanchu Cheruppakar, Ponman premiered on January 30, 2025, to widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences. Notably, the film was primarily shot on location in Kollam, with various scenes filmed in areas such as Munrothuruth, Thanni, Chinnakada, Kundara and Thekkumbhagam.
Moana 2
The highly anticipated sequel Moana 2 is set to arrive on OTT platforms after a phenomenal theatrical run, surpassing the billion-dollar milestone. The animated adventure reunites audiences with Moana and demigod Maui as they embark on a thrilling new quest to discover the lost island of Motufetu. Although the sequel's soundtrack may not quite live up to the original, fans can look forward to another exhilarating journey with their beloved characters. Marking its digital premiere, Moana 2 will be available to stream on JioHotstar starting March 14.
Agent
Agent hit theaters on April 28, 2023, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations, garnering mixed to negative reviews from critics. The film's underwhelming performance at the box office was a commercial disappointment, prompting producer Anil Sunkara and lead actor Akhil Akkineni to issue a heartfelt apology. After facing multiple delays in its OTT release and a Hindi TV premiere, the action-packed spy thriller is finally set to stream on Sony LIV starting March 14, 2025.
Vanvaas
After a successful theatrical run in December 2024, the highly anticipated movie Vanvaas is now gearing up for its digital debut. The family drama stars Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma, son of renowned director Anil Sharma. Vanvaas will premiere on the popular streaming platform ZEE5 on March 14, 2025. To generate buzz around the digital premiere, ZEE5 made an official announcement on Sunday, unveiling a brand-new poster of the film.
Anora
The Academy Award-winning film Anora is a gripping tale of love and turmoil, following the story of a Brooklyn stripper, portrayed by Mikey Madison, whose life is turned upside down by a whirlwind romance with the son of a Russian oligarch. As their relationship deepens, his parents' intervention sets off a chain of drastic events. This cinematic masterpiece, which swept the Oscars with wins in seven categories, including Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Director, boasts a talented cast, including Mark Eidelstein, Yuri Borisov and Karren Karagulian. Anora is set to premiere on JioHotstar on March 17.
