Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has won the hearts of audiences with his impeccable performances in movies over the years. His film Lakshya has received a lot of appreciation for its storyline and his acting skills as well. It made a huge positive impact on his career. Marking the 20th year of Lakshya, Hrithik Roshan shared a heartfelt message about the film and director Farhan Akhtar. He  wondered the reason behind his casting in the movie. The actor also appreciated the skills of Farhan and said that he had written a beautiful script. He felt that Lakshya was destined to be made.

Sharing a post on Instagram, Hrithik said “I’m here to talk about Lakshya, 20 years ago this film that we have done. I was very young and was hardly an actor and Farhan (Akhtar) suddenly became an incredible mind. I saw his first film and felt like how has this person made this film. Where did he get the courage or the knowledge, or information?' He had written this beautiful script, and more than the story or the big cause, it was the character of Karan Shergill that was me."

He added, “I don't know what made Farhan cast me, but perhaps that director's mind could see through and understand a person's countenance, knowing that this human had been through certain things that would make him the perfect cast for this film. I had been through all those experiences in very similar ways. Karan Shergill was me. I did not need to do much. The naivety, spontaneity, anger, being on the cusp of maturity, learning the ways, being completely confused and dumbfounded as to what I was going to do in my life, not having any hopeful avenues — I went through that crossroad so greatly and intensely in my life that it just came naturally to me.”

“I truly think it's a film that was destined to be. It has gone a long way in changing people's lives, and livelihoods as well. I'm just full of gratitude that this film happened in my life and that I got a chance to grow via this film and via these people that I worked with,” he added.

Lakshya also featured Preity Zinta, Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Om Puri, Sharad Kapoor, Raj Zutshi, Sushant Singh, Parmeet Sethi, Amrish Puri and Ranvir Shorey in key roles. The story revolves around a lazy man, who joined Indian Army but backed out as soon as he saw a soldier’s life in trouble. But he later joined the army to make her girlfriend proud of him. It is currently streaming on Netflix.
