Mumbai | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated across the country. Everyone, from ordinary citizens to celebrities, was seen dedicating the day to Ganpati Bappa. Bollywood stars do not hold themselves back on such occasions. Many of them not only brought Lord Ganesha home but also worshipped the deity, followed by uploading of photographs of the same on social media.
Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan has been trolled for sharing the picture with Ganapathi Bappa. She became the latest victim of social media shaming and was attacked on the religious ground after she shared a photograph celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi.
Sara, daughter of actor Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, took to Instagram, to wish her fans on Tuesday.
Sara shared a picture of herself with a murti of Lord Ganesha on Instagram. In the picture, she is seen in a red salwar-suit. Sharing this picture on Instagram, Sara congratulated her fans on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi in the caption.
She wrote, “Ganpati Bappa Morya!! May Ganesh Ji remove all your obstacles, and fill your year with laughter, positivity and success.”
No sooner did Sara post this, a band of Muslim users of social media began trolling her incessantly. A user wrote to Sara, reminding Sara of Muharram, “Sorry, be a Muslim and consider Muharram.”
Another user wrote in the comment section: "Why don't you change your name from Sara to Sara(swati) or something and then worship all the gods". "I thought you are Muslim," another taunted.
"Please accept Hinduism," said another. "Please Saraji behave yourself you are a Muslim so... please don't do this again," another taunted.
One said that a "Fatwa" needs to be issued against Sara. "Shame on you if you are Khan then don't change god," a user said. Yet another user of that religion wrote, “Oh, what all Muslims need to do in India in order to just live in that country!”
Apart from this, many social media users reacted to the Instagram post of Sara.
