Actor Jason Shah is currently basking in the success of ‘Heeramandi- The Diamond Bazaar’. Shah played the role of Mr. Cartwright who is a British cop. Amid the successful run of the web series, Shah has reportedly got an offer to be a part of Bigg Boss OTT season 3. However, the official confirmation regarding the same is still awaited. 

Is Heeramandi Actor Jason Shah Bigg Boss OTT 3 Contestant?

According to reports, Jason Shah is currently contemplating the offer, although he has not yet made a decision to accept it. If Jason decides to take up this opportunity, it will mark his second appearance on the reality show Bigg Boss. Previously, he entered the 10th season of Bigg Boss as a wild card contestant. During his stint on ‘Bigg Boss 10’, Jason Shah made a significant impression on viewers but had to exit the show prematurely due to health concerns.

As Jason continues to navigate his career through the expansive realms of film and television, he remains excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, ready to make his mark and explore new artistic avenues.

In a conversation with India.com, Jason revealed, “I was just 17 years old when I secured a small role in the movie Partner, where big names from Bollywood were casted. The hustle and bustle enveloped me. I was a model at the time, it was completely different for me. It was cool and different for me and I thought I could do this and it seems fun (sic).”

Jason also expressed how it was like to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Heeramandi’. He said, “It was fantastic, working with the crew I learned a lot working with new directors... It was amazing... It was great working with Indian Bollywood heroines and it was like a dream come true moment (sic). The amount of screen time that I have gotten will help me a lot on international platforms as well. All over, it was a good experience for me (sic).”

In a discussion about a controversial rape scene from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series debut, the period drama includes a moment where the character Mr. Cartwright, played by Jason Shah, demands that Mallikajaan undress and dance in front of British police officers. This scene, in particular, was distressing because it portrayed a mother's desperation to save her youngest daughter, Alamzeb, from incarceration by subjecting herself to a degrading act. When asked about this, Jason Shah explained the significance of the scene. He noted that the portrayal of the rape was crucial for breaking down Mallikajaan's character, emphasizing the harsh realities and the tough decisions she had to make. "In her own way, she rationalizes the situation as a sacrifice for her daughter," Jason remarked.
