Kalki 2898 AD is all set to hit the theatres on June 27, 2024. The movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles, while Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani will be seen making cameo appearances. Industry tracker Sacnilk predicts the sci-fi film could earn up to Rs 200 crore globally on its first day, making it 2024's top opener and the third-highest ever. If accurate, Prabhas will have three of the top five biggest openings.

According to Sacnilk, pre-sales are booming in Telugu regions and growing in Hindi markets. The Hindi version's advance sales are matching those of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. Kalki 2898 AD is projected to earn between Rs 120 crore and Rs 140 crore in India on its opening day.
In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to earn Rs 90-100 crore. North India should generate more revenue on opening day than Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu combined. Overseas, the film aims for Rs 60-70 crore, totaling a global opening of Rs 180-210 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD is a highly-anticipated film set in a distant future where the city of Kasi endures in a desertified world under the oppressive rule of Supreme Yaskin's totalitarian regime. The city is overshadowed by the Complex, a massive floating structure resembling an inverted pyramid. Blending Indian mythology with a dystopian setting, the story spans millennia, starting from the events of the Mahabharata in 3102 BC, marking the beginning of Kali Yuga, and extending to the futuristic year of 2898 AD. At the heart of the narrative is the mysterious figure of Kalki, regarded as the tenth and final avatar of Vishnu, around whom the story unfolds.
Originally slated for release on May 9, 2024, Kalki 2898 AD faced a delay due to the 2024 Indian general election. The film is now set to premiere globally in theatres on June 27, 2024, in various formats including IMAX, 3D, and others.
