Directed by Spencer Matthew, known for his work in the film 'Sweet Poison' starring Girish Karnad, 'Tapassi' marks Ravichandran's first foray into a female-centric narrative. The film is reportedly based on a true story and features Ammayra Goswami making her Kannada film debut. Goswami has previously worked in Malayalam and Marathi cinema.
In 'Tapassi', Ravichandran will portray the character of a professor, adding depth and weightage to the storyline. The actor revealed in an interview that the film's shoot is nearly complete, with the team eagerly awaiting his portions to wrap up production. Matthew, who is also the scriptwriter for 'Tapassi', was insistent on having Ravichandran on board for the project, confident that the actor's portrayal would do justice to the film's message. Ravichandran acknowledged the film's female-centric nature and praised the director for patiently waiting for him to join the cast.
Aside from Ravichandran, 'Tapassi' will feature Vinay Prasad, Prajwal, Sachin, Anusha, and other talented artists. Spencer Matthew is producing the film under the banner Bangalore Movies, with Gangaadhar serving as the executive producer.
