Kannappa New Poster Out:  Akshay Kumar has announced the release date of the upcoming movie Kannappa. The mythological drama stars Prabhas and Vishnu Manchu in pivotal roles. The much-anticipated movie will be released on April 25, 2025. The movie is about the untold story of lord Shiva’s devotee Kannappa. Akshay shared a poster on his Instagram story which read, “The untold story of Lord Shiva's Greatest Devotee. Worldwide release 25 April 2025.” The tagline of the film is “The Bravest Warrior. The Ultimate Devotee.” 

The makers also shared the poster on social media handles, “Mark your calendars! To witness the untold story of Lord Shiva's Greatest Devotee #Kannappa, is all set to hit the big screens on 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱! Get ready for an epic cinematic journey! #HarHarMahadevॐ.”

The film also stars Josita Anola, Nayanthara, Kajal Aggarwal, Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal and Brahmanandam in key roles. In the movie Prabhas will play the role of Nandeeswarudu, Vishnu Manchu as Kannappa, Akshay Kumar will play the role of lord Shiva, and Kajal Aggarwal will be seen as Goddess Parvati. For the unversed, Akshay has wrapped up his shoot of the movie in May this year. While sharing the news about the same, the makers posted a picture of the star with Vishnu Manch. They wrote on Instagram “Exciting news! @akshaykumar has wrapped up shooting for the highly-anticipated movie #𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐚🏹, alongside the talented @vishnumanchu.” 

Notably the film will be released in several languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and English. 

On Akshay Kumar’s birthday this year, makers also shared a glimpse of his role as lord Shiva. While sharing the poster of the movie, “A Heartfelt Birthday wish to @akshaykumar ! Your portrayal of Lord Shiva in this film is a testament to your unwavering dedication. Team #Kannappa celebrates you today and always.”
