Kareena Kapoor Khan has delivered memorable performances in crime thrillers like Jaane Jaan and The Buckingham Murders. She is now set to step into the crime thriller genre again, this time with Meghna Gulzar, for her upcoming directorial Daayra. She will share screening space for the first time with Prithviraj Sukumaran in this project. The actress shared this exciting news on her social media.

Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram and shared photos featuring herself, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Meghna Gulzar. Along with the post, she announced her new film Daayra. Her post read, "I’ve always said that I’m a director’s actor… and this time I cannot wait to work with one of the finest director’s we have, @meghnagulzar & alongside the magnificent @therealprithvi, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, #Daayra. let’s do this."

About Daayra

Meghna Gulzar is known for delivering movies like Raazi and Talvar and is reuniting again with Junglee Pictures for her upcoming project. This crime drama movie features Kareena and Prithviraj in the lead roles. The film promises to be a cinematic experience by reflecting on society today and exploring crime, law and justice. Daayra is co-written by Yash and Sima alongside Meghna, Her last directorial was the 2023 war action film Sam Bahadur, which starred Vicky Kaushal.

Kareena on the other hand, was last seen in the Rohit Shetty directorial Singham Again. The movie also starred Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff and Jackie Shroff. The action thriller was released in November 2024.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran is basking in the success of his latest directorial L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal. The movie also starred him in his iconic role Zayed Masood. The sequel to Lucifer debuted in theatres on March 27.
