Sony TV earlier shared a promo of the episode of KBC 16 on its official Instagram handle. In the promo, Chander Prakash was attempting the last question for Rs 7 crore prize money. Earlier, Chander Prakash used his lifeline of 'Double Dip' and correctly answered the RS 1 cr question. He also bagged a gift from Hyundai, Venue SUV as heofficially became the first crorepati of the season. However, when he reached the Rs 7 cr question, things looked tough.
For the jackpot question, Chander was asked, "Who was the first recorded child born to English parents in North America in 1587?" Having exhausted all his three lifelines, the UPSC aspirant found himself in a twist as he did not know the correct answer. Wisely, he quit the game and secured his winnings of Rs 1 crore. However, when he attempted to answer and chose option A. Virginia Dare, it turned out to be correct.
Who is UPSC aspirant Chander Prakash?
Chander Prakash has faced health problems since birth. Just after his birth, Chander Prakash underwent surgery due to a blockage in his intestine. The parents thought that the problem was solved and the child was fine. But who knew that this was just the beginning. Due to medicines, his kidneys also started getting affected. In such a situation, there was no hope of him getting up from bed.
Hoping to secure financial support, his father turned to insurance companies, only to be met with rejection. With no other option, he drained his savings to provide the necessary treatment. In a heartfelt interview, his father reflected on the bittersweet experience, from the initial euphoria of welcoming his first child to the subsequent struggles navigating the healthcare system.
