Kesari 2 Box Office Report: Akshay Kumar's Courtroom Drama To Wrap Up Its Run, Misses Rs 100 Crore In India

Kesari 2, which also starred Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, brought in Rs 90.85 crore during its 32-day theatrical run. The end of this historical drama about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre is not far away. With movies like Bhool Chuk Maaf, Kapkapii and Kesari Veer nearing their theatrical release, the courtroom drama will wind up on the big screen. For the unversed, all these movies will be available in theatres on Friday, May 23, 2025.

Kesari 2 earned Rs 45 crore in its first week of release. The movie about C Sankaran Nair made a total of Rs 27.75 crore in its second week of release. In the third and fourth weeks, the sequel brought in Rs 9 crore and Rs 5.45 crore, respectively.

Kesari 2 got off to a respectable start and is currently holding steady at low levels. The Hindi language patriotic drama made Rs 5 lakh at the box office on day 30. On the fifth Friday, the historical drama brought in Rs 45 lakh. On the fifth Sunday, the Kesari sequel saw a slight increase in revenue, but Monday's results caused the movie to decline. Karan Singh Tyagi's directorial, which has held its own very well, did not earn Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office. Akshay Kumar-led movie, however, grossed Rs 108.1 crore, as per sacnilk.

Kesari Chapter 2 is competing with Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Raid 2 at the box office currently. The Tom Cruise starrer released on May 17, 2025, while the Raid sequel has been in theatres for over two weeks now.

About Kesari Chapter 2

Kesari 2 explores the aftermath of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre from the perspective of Indian statesman and lawyer C Sankaran Nair. The novel The Case That Shook the Empire served as its inspiration.

Akshay Kumar plays Justice Chettur Sankaran Nair in the recently released movie, which was directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. Nair battles The Crown in a court of law. Advocate Neville McKinley and Dilreet Gill are played by R Madhavan and Ananya, respectively.
