Kick 2 Update: The success of Salman Khan’s action-comedy film Kick, released in 2014, sparked numerous rumors of a sequel over the years. In October last year, the makers officially announced the highly anticipated sequel Kick 2. Since then, fans have eagerly awaited the development of the film. Now, screenwriter Rajat Arora, who also co-wrote for Salman’s upcoming movie Sikandar, has dropped an exciting update, revealing that the script is currently in development.

Kick 2 Update:

In Kick, Salman Khan portrayed the role of Devi Lal Singh aka Devil, a modern-day Robin Hood with a desi touch. Sharing details about the sequel, Rajat Arora, in a conversation with Mid-day, revealed, “We are taking the story ahead from where Kick [2014] ended, with Salman’s character [becoming] a police officer.”
Rajat spoke about the demand for the sequel and mentioned that the script is nearing completion. He added, “If any character demands a sequel, it is Devi Lal from Kick. There has been a huge demand for the sequel, and we could have done it much earlier if we wanted to cash in on Kick’s popularity and Salman’s stardom. But we didn’t want to make the film just for the sake of it; we wanted it to have a new story and be perfect. That’s why it has taken us some time. The scripting is in progress and will be completed soon.”

The screenwriter also shared how Sajid Nadiadwala’s understanding of filmmaking and Salman Khan’s persona on screen plays a crucial role in scripting Kick 2.

“Sajid sir knows all aspects of filmmaking, including storytelling. Salman sir’s personality and stardom are legendary. So, I have to keep his stardom in mind while writing, but at the same time, the screenplay and dialogues come from the subject. Kick’s popular line, ‘Main dil mein aata hoon, dimag mein nahin,’ came from Salman’s persona,” Rajat stated.
