Kirti Kulhari, who has amazed audiences with her performances in movies like Khichdi 2, Mission Mangal, Pink and many others, recently enthralled viewers with her cop role in Hisaab Barabar, which also stars R Madhavan. She has always become a topic of discussion whenever she chops her hair short. Recently, the actress opened up about the responses she received for her new look, which led to assumptions that she was a lesbian.
Kirti Kulhari in a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, discussed the norms society sets around the length of hair and how it leads to different assumptions. She recollected a comment on her Instagram post, saying, "The day I wrapped up the Hisaab Barabar shoot, I went home and chopped my hair off. When I did, I started getting comments suggesting that people were expecting me to come out as a lesbian. They were saying, ‘She’s going to come out of the closet and announce it soon—just because of her hair.’ So, if I have long hair, I’m not a lesbian, but the moment I cut it, you assume I am? Because your attachment to someone being homosexual is based on how she keeps her hairstyle. I was rather amused by the way people see what you do through their lens."
