Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of his new (remake) film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film is the Hindi ‘adaptation’ of the superhit Tamil film, Veeram. While Salman Khan is ready to give Eidi to his fans after a gap of 5 years in theaters, the trailer of the film has left social media divided.
What Is Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan About?

If you’re one of those lucky few who are either too busy to scroll through social media or were on a digital detox, the trailer of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was unveiled earlier this week. Two months after the almost 2-minute long teaser was released, Salman Khan gave his fans an ‘iftari’ gift and treated them with high-octane action sequences, cheesy one-liners, goons being thrown in the air, Salman showing off his chiseled body; basically every Salman Khan movie ever.
How Was The Trailer?
The trailer of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was brutally trolled on social media. Even if you ignore the nonsensical scenes and cringe-worthy dialogues, the choreography and songs of the film just make it even more unbearable. To make matters worse, Salman Khan is seen wearing a long wig which flows in the air along with Pooja Hegde’s tresses.
From “Another kachra reloading” to “Salman Khan’s hair has more volume than his acting. PATHETIC!”, the trailer of the film wreaked havoc on social media platforms.
Another Salman Khan Film, Another South Indian Film Remake

This isn’t the first time Salman Khan is remaking a popular and hit South film. Case in point: Wanted, Bodyguard, Ready, Dabangg, Bajrangi Bhaijaan…basically majority of his films after the year 2009 have had a south Indian connection. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan seems like Salman Khan’s attempt at trying out his hit formula to deliver a much-needed blockbuster.
South Indian Film Remakes Formula Failing At Box-Office
This year, Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada and Akshay Kumar-Emraan Hashmi’s Selfiee released in theaters. Both the films were remakes of superhit south Indian films; Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Malayalam film Driving License respectively, but failed to create any magic at the Hindi box-office.
Why Salman Khan Should Have Steered Away From Another Remake
With the trend of South Indian film remakes on the decline in Bollywood, it’s high time Salman Khan focuses on original scripts. His films Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai were Hindi original movies and became blockbuster successes at the box-office. With Tiger 3 in his kitty, Salman Khan looks at creating another big record at the box-office.
Salman Khan has been consistently giving his fans remake after remake; making a huge void of original scripts in his filmography. With the trailer of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan receiving mixed reviews from netizens, the Bollywood superstar might want to try self-introspection and choose scripts wisely.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan releases in theaters worldwide on April 21, 2023.
