Mammootty has returned to the big screen with his crime thriller film 'Kannur Squad' and it has been receiving a good response from the audience. The movie revolves around a police officer and his team trying to catch a criminal gang in India. Apart from Mammootty, the movie also stars Vijayaraghavan, Kishore, Rony David, Shabareesh Varma and Azees Nedumangad in pivotal roles. Mammootty has starred in several hit thriller movies in his career which is widely enjoyed by the audience and some of them have also achieved the status of cult classic.

The movie gained a cult fan following over the years and is considered one of the best Malayalam crime thrillers.

3. Jagratha

'Jagratha' is the sequel to 'Oru CBI Diary Kurippu' and stars Mammootty, Mukesh and Jagathy Sreekumar in the lead roles. The movie revolves around a CBI officer, Sethurama Iyer, who investigates the murder of popular actress Awasthi. As he investigates the case, he uncovers Aswathi's dark secret which can complicate everything. The movie is streaming on Prime Video.

4. Yavanika

'Yavanika' revolves around Sub-Inspector Jacob Eeraly, who gets assigned to investigate the missing case of popular tabla player Ayyapan. He finds some disturbing truths about Ayyapan as he tries to find him. Starring Bharath Gopi, Mammootty, Nedumudi Venu, Jalaja and Thilakan, the movie is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

5. August 1

'August 1' revolves around Perumal, a crime branch officer, who is assigned to stop the assassination of the newly elected chief minister of Kerala. The movie is loosely based on the 1971 British novel 'The Day of the Jackal' by Frederick Forsyth and stars Mammootty, Sukumaran and Captain Raju. It is streaming on Zee5.
