Malayalam film actress Manju Pillai ended 24 years of marriage with cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev. The latter announced the divorce in a YouTube interview. In the video, Vaassudev confirmed that he has been living separately from his wife Manju since 2020 but the divorce procedure was completed last month. Sujith also asserted that now he maintains a healthy friendship with his former wife. In the interview, he also appreciated the career graph of Manju.
In the YouTube interview, Sujith Vaassudev said, “We have been separated since 2020. We got divorced last month. Now I want to call Manju a friend and our friendship still exists. Manju's career is going well. The feeling of happiness when witnessing a close friend achieving great success is truly amazing.”
There were also rumours that after Manju Pillai purchased a flat in Thiruvananthapuram, Sujith Vaassudev did not attend the housewarming ceremony because of their separation. Similarly, the actress also refrained from attending the housewarming ceremony of the cinematographer’s Kochi flat. But their daughter had attended both events.
Manju Pillai and Sujith Vaassudev got married in 2000 and have a daughter named Daya. Their divorce rumours have been going around for a long time until now. Sujith worked on some of the popular films including Drishyam, and Lucifer. Notably, his next project is Empuraan. Meanwhile, Manju is actively involved in various Malayali television shows.
