The spirit of camaraderie in the Malayalam film industry is shining brightly. Ahead of the much-anticipated release of L2: Empuraan, legendary actor Mammootty took to social media to extend his heartfelt wishes to the team.

Addressing director Mohanlal and actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mammootty shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Best wishes to the entire cast and crew of #Empuraan for a historic victory! Hope it crosses boundaries across the world and makes the entire Malayalam industry proud. Rooting for you, Dear Lal and Prithvi."

Prithviraj, who not only directs but also plays a key role in the film, responded with deep gratitude, calling Mammootty the "Patriarch of Malayalam cinema" and expressing how special his support is.

L2: Empuraan, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, is set to hit screens on March 27, 2025. Fans are eagerly counting down the hours, with the first show scheduled for an early 6:00 AM IST screening. The film is also set for a global release, aligning with international time zones.

Mohanlal reprises his iconic role as Khureshi-Ab’raam, aka Stephen Nedumpally, while Prithviraj returns as Zayed Masood. The ensemble cast includes an impressive lineup featuring Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Jerome Flynn, Indrajith Sukumaran, Eriq Ebouaney and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Even before its official premiere, L2: Empuraan is already making waves. The film has achieved an extraordinary milestone, surpassing Rs 60 crore in global advance sales. As per Sacnilk.com, it’s the first-ever Malayalam film to cross Rs 50 crore in pre-sales alone, setting the stage for what could be a record-breaking box office run.
