Mandakini, the much-awaited Malayalam movie is all set to hit the theatres soon. Helmed by Vinod Leela, the film stars Altaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar in the lead. Actors like Sarita Kuku, Ashwati Srikanth, Ganapathi, Vineet Thattil, Ala S Naina, Guinness Vinod, Pratish Jacob, Akhil Shah, Rashmi Anil, Ambili Sunil, Babita Basheer, Jafar Idukki, Ajim Shah, Akhila Nath and Kutty Akhil will be seen in key roles in the film. The makers recently released its trailer on YouTube which gained over two lakh views in 24 hours.
The trailer revolves around a newly married couple, who comes across an unlikely incident on their wedding night. This incident later puts their family into a complex situation. The film is set to release in theatres on May 24, 2024.

Earlier, Altaf Salim shared the poster of the film and wrote “Here’s the first taste of ‘Mandakini’ movie starring Althaf Salim & Anarkali Marikar directed by Vinod Leela & Produced by Sanju Unnithan under the banner of Spire Productions. Cheers to the entire team!!!”
Notably, Mandakini marks the debut film of Altaf as a lead actor.
Altaf Salim is known for his powerful performances in movies like Makal, Operation Java, Kallanum Bhagavathiyum, Allu Ramendran, Oru Adaar Love, Tholvi F.C., Rahel Makan Kora, and Premalu. He will be next directing Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira starring Fahadh Faasil and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead. Earlier he also directed the 2017 comedy-drama Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela starring Nivin Pauly, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shanthi Krishna, Siju Wilson, Sharaf U Dheen, George Kora, and Krishna Shankar in key roles.

Anarkali Marikar on the other hand also has an impeccable line of work which includes Sulaikha Manzil, B 32 Muthal 44 Vare, Aanandam, Amala, Gaganachari, Uyare, Janaki Jaane, Mandharam, Kirkkan, Priyan Ottathilanu and many others. She predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry and has played lead roles in movies like Gaganachari, Amala, and Aanandam.
