One of the biggest blockbusters of the year, Malayalam survival thriller movie Majummel Boys hit the theatres on February 22, 2024. The Indian version of Citadel, directed by the Russo Brothers, earned an impressive sum of over Rs 180 crores globally, breaking numerous box-office records along the way. Notably, it claimed the title of the highest-grossing Malayalam film to date, surpassing the previous record set in 2018. Additionally, it secured the third position among the highest-grossing Indian films of the year 2024.

Sreedhar Pillai, a renowned expert in the film industry, has shared exciting news about the highly anticipated movie "Manjummel Boys." According to his latest update, the much-awaited agreement for the film's distribution on OTT platforms and satellite channels has been successfully finalized. Disney Plus Hotstar and Asianet, both recognized as top players in offering Malayalam entertainment, have clinched the rights for broadcasting the movie. Notably, they have agreed to a price that closely aligns with the expectations of the film's producers.

He wrote on X, “Finally #ManjummelBoys #OTT & #Satellite deal done and dusted!The market leader in #Malayalam #DisneyPlusHotstar & #Asianet grabs it for a price close to what producer demanded.”

The movie features a large group of actors, including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar, Shebin Benson, and Vishnu Reghu. Inspired by a real-life event that occurred in 2006, the film's storyline revolves around a close-knit circle of buddies hailing from the quaint town of Manjummel, situated near Kochi. In a bid to unwind and create memories, these pals embark on a vacation adventure to the picturesque locale of Kodaikanal.

The movie ‘Manjummel Boys’ has garnered an impressive sum of over Rs 180 crore from audiences worldwide. Expressing their happiness, the team took to Instagram to share their gratitude, posting, "We are immensely grateful for all the love and support," as they celebrated their milestone achievement of becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film. Notably, the film has also performed remarkably well in international markets, grossing approximately Rs 62 crore.
