Manoj Bajpayee recently revealed that he had some misunderstanding with renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap due to which they didn’t work for a decade. Both of them worked together in films like Satya (released in 1998) and Shool (released in 1999). Ram Gopal Varma’s cult movie Satya showcased Manoj in the lead role whereas Anurag was the film’s writer. The duo again collaborated for Shool but later didn’t work for years. In 2012 they returned with Gangs of Wasseypur, which made history in the Indian Cinema. Recently, Manoj shared that he didn’t talk with the director and felt that Anurag didn’t make movies of his type.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Manoj shared “There was a misunderstanding about one thing, and we didn’t talk about it. Now it has become so big on social media that sometimes when embarrassment occurs, things are exaggerated. We didn’t talk because I felt, he wasn’t making films of my type, and he also felt that there was no need for Manoj Bajpayee right now because his career was going down. So both of us were enjoying our lives separately, he didn’t need me, and I didn’t need him.”

Manoj is currently gearing up for Apoorv Singh Karki’s Bhaiyya Ji. The movie is set to be released in theatres on 24th May. Other than this film, he is also shooting for the third instalment of The Family Man. Raj & DK’s web series is all set to release this year on Prime Video. It also Ashlesha Thakur, Sharib Hashmi, Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, and Dalip Tahil in pivotal roles.
