Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is all set to hit the theatres on June 1, 2023, and there is a lot of excitement about the film in India ever since the introduction of 'Indian Spider-Man'. Moreover, this is also the first time the audience will see a glimpse of Pavitr Prabhakar, who will be voiced by cricketer Shubhman Gill in Hindi and Punjabi.
Who is Pavitr Prabhakar, The Indian Spider-Man?
The Indian spider man, Pavitr Prabhakar, has long wavy dark brown hair. He wears a mask which let him flaunt his wavy hair and dons golden bracelets on his both wrists. Pavitr also wears blue dhoti-like pants to give an Indian touch to his costume.
Pavitr Prabhakar has been a part of Spider-Man comics since 2004. According to the website CBR, Spider-Man India was released in India in 2004 and was later introduced in the US in 2005.
In English, Pavitr Prabhakar has been voiced by Karan Soni. Talking about Indian Spider-Man, Hailee Steinfeld revealed that she did not know about this new addition. "We didn’t know before. We didn’t know a lot, very far in advance," she said.
She added, "So we were sort of discovering that character and the world of Mumbatam as we were making the project and it is so, so, so incredible to add something to this film and to the world of Spider-Man that we’ve never seen before and I am very excited about it.”
Meanwhile, Karan Soni shared, “I think it’s so exciting that the movie is being dubbed in nine Indian languages. It’s just very exciting because I grew up in India, and we absolutely love Spider-Man. When it was announced that I was playing him, I cannot tell you how many messages I got from people. Firstly, they were just excited, and then there were a few more serious messages, saying mainly, ‘Don’t mess this up.’ I don’t think we did!”
