Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning has taken the Indian box office by storm. The action-thriller, which hit the screens on May 17, is the eighth and final installment in the series. The last installment has made a significant impact at the Indian box office, collecting nearly Rs 35 crore in just two days of its release. Indian audiences received special advance access to the movie, which is scheduled to release in the US on May 23.

Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning on Sunday grossed Rs 17.69 crore, 7.21 per cent higher than the opening day collection of Rs 16.5 crore, as reported by Sacnilk. The movie has performed well in its native language English, with a two-day total collection of Rs 22.31 crore. On Sunday, the film grossed Rs 11.31 crore in English, while the response in regional languages was average. In Hindi, the Hollywood movie grossed Rs 5.5 crore, Rs 54,00,000 in Telugu, and Rs 34,00,000 in Tamil.

About Mission Impossible 8

Mission Impossible 8 has become the highest-grossing Hollywood opener in India this year. The movie is produced under the banners Paramount Pictures, TC Productions, and Skydance Media. The last installment features an ensemble cast including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, and Pom Klementieff in key roles, along with lead actor Tom Cruise.

Meanwhile, Tom Cruise’s movie has already surpassed the lifetime collections of several recent Marvel films in India in just two days. Thunderbolts earned Rs 22.50 crore at the Indian box office, and Mission Impossible 8 has shot past that in no time. Captain America: Brave New World fared marginally better with Rs 23 crore earnings in India. Mission Impossible 8 is now hurtling towards the Rs 50 crore mark and is expected to cross it in the first week itself.

On the other hand, The first crucial test for Mission Impossible 8 arrives today, the third day of its release in India. After a strong weekend, the movie would want to hold on to that momentum during the weekdays. Trade analysts are already predicting it as a billion-dollar grosser at the worldwide box office, which would be the first Mission Impossible franchise to achieve this feat.
