Moana 2 Box Office Predictions: Walt Disney Animation Studios is gearing up to take audiences back to the captivating island of Motunui with Moana 2. The highly anticipated sequel continues the story from the original, following Moana as she returns home after a three-day journey. Upon her return, she stumbles upon a mysterious object that could hold the key to an ancient island plagued by "angry gods." This discovery sends Moana on a dangerous new quest, where she must break a curse and reconnect with her people.

Once again, Moana teams up with the demigod Maui, voiced by Dwayne Johnson, as they set sail on another thrilling adventure. Moana 2 features the return of Auli'i Cravalho as the voice of Moana, with a new crew of unlikely seafarers joining the journey. Directed by Dave Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller, the film promises to deliver an epic voyage with stunning visuals and a powerful storyline.

The music, composed by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa'i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina, is expected to elevate the cinematic experience. Scheduled for release in India on November 29, 2024, the film will be available in both English and Hindi.

According to early predictions, Moana 2 is expected to dominate the box office, with a potential $100 million-plus opening over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend, from Wednesday to Sunday. This would mark the biggest opening for a movie releasing on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, surpassing the current record held by Disney's Frozen (2013), which opened to $93.5 million. Notably, Frozen 2 opened on the Friday before Thanksgiving, further solidifying Disney's stronghold on the holiday box office.

If these predictions hold, Moana 2 will contribute to a record-breaking year for Disney, which has already seen massive success with Inside Out 2, the highest-grossing film of 2024 and the top-earning animated film of all time.
