MTV Splitsvilla 16 Episode 1 Review: The excitement around MTV Splitsvilla, a youth based reality series, has already begun as it returns for its sixteenth season. Episode 1 debuted on MTV and JioHotstar on January 9. Karan Kundrra took over as the King of Hearts, and Sunny Leone returned as the Queen of Hearts. The previous format has been altered with the addition of Uorfi Javed and Nia Sharma as mischief makers. Now that first episode has aired, let's find out what happened and was it really worth the watch with the new twist.

Splitsvilla 16 began with a lavish beachside debut in Mahabalipuram, where hosts Sunny Leone and Karan Kundra welcomed eight girls. Without seeing the men, the girls were given 'love potions' that revealed three aspects of each of the boys' personalities, helping the girls know the guys a little better. Later, drones delivered love notes, similar to Instagram direct messages, adding excitement by giving the girls deeper insight into the boys’ traits and eventuainfluencing their decisions.

Splitsvilla 16 makers then introduced two young men, who made a spectacular appearance and began charming, dancing, and singing with the girls. While one competitor, Chakshadeep, clearly focused on just one girl, another attempted to win over all other girls with his exuberant acts. Before the final trio completes the roster, three more men arrive in second bath, displaying their skills with dance movements, strength, and even fistfights.

After that, the girls were instructed to present the boys they like the most heart-shaped lockets. The boys with the most lockets were safe in the game ahead. After that, all competitors enter the Pyaar Villa, where they unwind by the pool and start connecting, chatting, and forming connections.

A promo for Paisa Villa, hosted by Urfi Javed and Nia Sharma, featured another group of 16 contestants—eight boys and eight girls—ended the first episode on a surprising note. The Roadies winner, Kushal aka Gullu, is one of the confirmed competitors, laying the groundwork for a high-stakes parallel game of love and money.
