Naga Chaitanya and his longtime rumoured girlfriend, Sobhita Dhulipala, are officially engaged! The duo said yes in a traditional ceremony in Hyderabad on Thursday morning. The announcement was made by Nagarjuna, Chaitanya's father. The engagement was a private event held at Nagarjuna’s Hyderabad mansion. Dropping the photos, Nagarjuna has given his blessings to the couple and wrote "We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!!"

"We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 ... A beginning of infinite love....," he added.

 

After reportedly dating for nearly two years, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala officially confirmed their relationship by getting engaged on Thursday, surrounded by their family members.

The newly engaged couple began their relationship a few months after Naga Chaitanya's divorce from Samantha. In May, they were first seen together in Hyderabad, Naga's hometown, where Sobhita Dhulipala was promoting her film Major. Reports indicate that Sobhita, who was in the city for the film’s promotion, celebrated her birthday with Naga and a few friends. This occasion marked the beginning of their close friendship, which eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship.

The couple is anticipated to marry later this year. Earlier, he and Sobhita Dhulipala were seen together at a wine-tasting event in London. Additionally, rumours intensified when netizens observed that Sobhita was reading the same book as Naga.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot in October 2017 and were together for almost four years before announcing their separation via social media in October 2021. The news took many fans by surprise. The couple cited personal reasons for their decision to part ways. They expressed, "To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support."
