As India is celebrating National Doctor’s Day today, several movies depicted the lives of doctors and their personal life struggles. This day has been celebrated for the selfless contribution of the medical officials. 1st July also marks the birth and death anniversary of Former Chief Minister of West Bengal and well-known physician Bidhan Chandra Roy. So to mark this day dedicated to doctors, here we brought you the list of top 5 movies to watch based on them. 

1) Doctor G

Anubhuti Kashyap’s comedy-drama focuses on a medical student, who is the only male student in the gynaecology department of a medical college. The movie shows a hilarious ride on his journey to become a doctor. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah, Ayesha Kaduskar, Sheeba Chaddha and Sanjana Vij in pivotal roles. Doctor G is currently streaming on Netflix.

2) Freddy

The movie delves into the boring life of a dentist, who later falls in love with a woman in an abusive marriage. The socially awkward dentist does everything to win her love and later falls into a trap. It features Kartik Aaryan, Alaya F, Jeniffer Piccinato, Karan Pandit, Sajjad Delafrooz, Harshika Kewalramani, Vihaan Chaudhary and Tripti Agarwal in prominent roles. Shashanka Ghosh’s directorial is streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.

3) Munna Bhai MBBS

A heart-touching story of a gangster, who decided to follow the dream of his father by becoming a doctor. He takes the help of his best friend and gets himself enrolled in a medical college. The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Gracy Singh, Late Sunil Dutt, Boman Irani, Jimmy Shergill and Yatin Karyekar in key roles. Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai MBBS is currently streaming on Prime Video.

4) Paa

The story revolves around a progeria child, who has been brought up by a gynaecologist mother.  It also highlighted the significance of a father-and-son bond, which has been hidden from him. R Balki’s movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Paresh Rawal, Arundathi Nag and Taruni Sachdev in prominent roles. Paa is streaming on the OTT platform Peacock.

5) Kabir Singh

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial showcases the love story of two medical students and their struggles to convince the girl’s parents. The film features Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Nikita Dutta, Adil Hussain, Teena Singh, Soham Majumdar, Vanita Kharat and Kunal Thakur in significant roles. The movie is currently streaming on the popular OTT platform Netflix.
