The track, which features her brother Tony Kakkar, was expected to be a fun and energetic number. While the song’s colourful visuals and upbeat rhythm initially caught attention, a large section of listeners expressed disappointment with its suggestive lyrics and bold choreography. Many listeners took issue with what they felt was the excessive sexualisation in the song. One user commented, “She is going to judge young talent. How pathetic is that (sic)”, questioning the responsibility that comes with Neha Kakkar’s influence. Another wrote, “Both the siblings have lost it completely”. Others questioned the artistic direction of the song, asking, “What kind of song is this, and what sort of choreography does it promote.” A section of viewers also accused Candy Shop of attempting to imitate Kpop aesthetics without proper execution.
