Bollywood actress Neha Sharma was recently seen campaigning for Congress on behalf of her father Ajit Sharma. He is presently the Congress Legislative Party leader in Bihar Legislative Assembly. Last month, the actress was seen participating in a mega road show in Bhagalpur to support her father ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls. As the video of her campaign went viral on social media, people assumed that she was an MP. Now, clarifying her political stance, Neha denied being into politics.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, Neha said “I was campaigning for my dad and not for myself. A lot of people thought that I was standing as a member of parliament. But no, that’s not for this season.”
Neha was also asked if she is aiming to contest in Lok Sabha Election 2029. She replied, “You will know in five years. I’m dropping little hints.”
When asked about people terming Bollywood as a bed of power play and politics. She stated, “I feel it’s everywhere and not just in our industry. All of these things will always be a part of any workplace because everyone wants to be successful and be at a position of power that helps them control a lot of things. I won’t pinpoint and say that politics exist only in our profession.”
