Fans of All of Us Are Dead will have to be extra patient, as Netflix has reportedly delayed the highly anticipated second season until 2026. Originally expected in 2025, the zombie thriller’s return is now set to break records for the longest gap between two seasons of a Netflix original series.

While Netflix series like Squid Game and Stranger Things have faced delays, All of Us Are Dead now holds the record for the longest wait between seasons. Even Blood of Zeus, which had a notable hiatus, doesn’t come close to this four-year gap. According to Star News, production hurdles have pushed back the timeline, leaving fans waiting much longer than expected.

Back in April 2024, Film Monster CEO Park Chul-soo mentioned that filming was scheduled to start in 2024, with a 2025 release in mind. However, further delays in production led to another shift, with filming now expected to take place in 2025. Netflix’s 2025 promotional lineup also did not include All of Us Are Dead, further confirming that the series won’t return until the following year.

Despite the long wait, All of Us Are Dead remains one of Netflix’s most successful Korean original series, second only to Squid Game. The show first premiered in early 2022, just before Korea’s Lunar New Year, and quickly gained global attention for its intense storytelling and thrilling zombie action.

Based on the webtoon Jigeum Woori Hakkyoneun by Joo Dong-geun, the series follows high school students trapped in their school amid a sudden zombie outbreak. As they struggle to survive, the show also explores deeper societal issues, making it more than just a horror series. The cast includes Park Ji Hu, Yoon Chan Young, Cho Yi Hyun, Lomon, Yoo In Soo, Lee Yoo Mi, Kim Byung Chul, Lee Kyu Hyung and Jeon Bae Soo.
