Ramayana Movie Update: Buzz around Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated mythological epic Ramayana intensified after several media reports claimed that actor Vikrant Massey had been replaced by Raghav Juyal in the film. The speculation quickly went viral, triggering widespread discussion across social media. However, Vikrant Massey has now firmly denied these claims, stating that he was never part of the project in the first place.

The rumours began after a report by Variety India suggested that Raghav Juyal had been cast as Meghanad, also known as Indrajit, the eldest son of Ravana and the crown prince of Lanka, in Ramayana Part 2. The same report claimed that Vikrant Massey was initially approached for the role but was later replaced due to undisclosed reasons. On Sunday, Vikrant Massey took to Instagram Stories to directly address the rumours.

In his now-deleted Instagram Story, Vikrant wrote, “OK. To put things to rest, I was never a part of this movie. Am not, never was. Such irresponsible media coverage from "respectable" media houses is kinda appalling.” He also extended his best wishes to the film’s team, adding, “Nonetheless, wishing everyone on Ramayana all the very best. Will surely buy a ticket and watch it in cinemas.” However, within minutes of posting the clarification, Vikrant deleted the Instagram Story.

According to Variety India, Raghav Juyal has officially joined the cast of Ramayana and will play Meghanad in the second part of the film, which is scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release. The report stated that Raghav was approached after plans with the previous actor “didn’t work out” and that he immediately agreed to take on the role. As of now, the makers of Ramayana have not released an official casting announcement regarding Meghanad.
