55th Kerala State Film Awards Full Winners List: The much-awaited 55th Kerala State Film Awards were held on November 3 at Ramanilayam in Thrissur. The Minister for Culture and Films Saji Cherian, announced the names of the winners on Monday. A seven-member jury chaired by actor Prakash Raj evaluated 38 films for this year’s honours. Initially, the Kerala State Film Awards announcement was scheduled for October 31, but it was reportedly postponed due to film screenings and a special session of the Legislative Assembly. Superstar Mammootty won the Best Actor for his performance in Bramayugam, while the hit film Manjummel Boys has received top honours, including Best Film and Best Director. 55th Kerala State Film Awards

The jury panel for Kerala State Film Awards was headed by actor Prakash Raj, along with professionals including film director Ranjan Pramod, filmmaker Jibu Jacob, screenwriter Santhosh Echikkanam, playback singer Gayathri Ashokan, Sound designer and director Nithin Lukose, and actor-writer Baghyalakshmi. A total of 128 films participated in the competition and the panel shortlisted 38 films for the final round, from which the winners were announced.

Superstar Mammootty won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his role as Kodumon Potti in the horror blockbuster 2024 Bramayugam, directed by Rahul Sadasivan. This is not his first win, Mammootty has previously won Kerala State Film Awards and special mentions for his performances in acclaimed films like Adiyozhukkukal, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Mrigaya, Mahayanam, Ponthan Mada, Vatsalyam, Kaazhcha, Vidheyan, and many others.

Among the winners, actress Shamla Hamza bagged the award for Best Actress for her performance in Fasil Muhammed's directorial Feminichi Fathima. The film, which was also chosen as the Second Best Film, also led director Fasil Muhammed to win his Best Debutant Director award.

Manjummel Boys, the survival drama directed by Chidambaram and a story based on real-life incidents, earned around nine awards, including top honours at the 55th Kerala State Film Awards.
