71st National Film Awards: The 71st National Film Awards, which recognise the finest of Indian cinema year 2023, were revealed in August this year. The title holders received top honours from President Droupadi Murmu at the award ceremony, which was held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday. Filmmakers from all over India were honoured with get a cash reward, a certificate, and a medal. The National Awards bestows accomplishments in a number of categories, such as visual effects, scriptwriting, feature and non-feature films, and more.

The National Film Awards have two categories, the Golden Lotus and Silver Lotus. The greatest honour, the Golden Lotus, is given for Best Popular Film, Best Director, or Best Feature Film, representing excellence. Other categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Music, or Best Editing, receive the Silver Lotus. The prize money for the Silver Lotus categories is Rs 200,000, while the prize money for the Golden Lotus categories is around Rs 300,000.

How Much Shah Rukh Khan And Vikrant Massey Win?

Shah Rukh Khan shared his Best Actor honour with Vikrant Massey for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail. Therefore, each actor will receive a medal and certificate separately, but the cash prize will be divided, giving each actor Rs 1 lakh. The event's organizer, the Directorate of Film Festivals, has explicit guidelines on joint honours. The monetary portion is distributed evenly among the winners, but each one receives their own medal and certificate.

How Much Cash Prize Did Rani Mukerji Get?

Rani Mukerji received Rs 2 lakh as compensation for winning the Best Actress award in Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway.

How Much Did Mohanlal Get At 71st National Film Award?

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is based on lifetime achievement, now comes with Rs 1.5 million instead of Rs 1 million. It is divided evenly if the award is shared. Mohanlal received the full amount for his contribution in the Indian cinema at the 71st National Film Awards. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award comes with a medallion and shawl in addition to the Golden Lotus.

To ensure a thorough assessment of Indian cinema, renowned juries from a variety of categories decided on the 71st National Film Awards 2025. Ashutosh Gowariker chaired the Feature Film Jury, while Malay Ray led the Non-Feature Film Jury

71st National Film Award Winners

There were several categories with multiple winners at the 71st National Film Awards. The Best Supporting Actor award was shared between M. S. Bhaskar for Parking and Vijayaraghavan for Pookkaalam. Janki Bodiwala (Vash) and Urvashi (Ullozhukku) share the Best Supporting Actress award.

 Reesha Thosar, Shrinivas Pokale, and Bhargav Jagtap (Naal 2), Kabir Khandare (Gypsy), and Sukriti Veni Bandreddi (Gandhi Tatha Chettu) have been divided among the Best Child Artist award. Likewise, Sai Rajesh and Ramkumar Balakrishnan shared the Best Original Screenplay prize for Baby and Parking, respectively. 

In the documentary category, Mo Bou, Mo Gaan, and LentinaAo-A-A Light on the Eastern Horizon shared the Best Biographical/Historical Reconstruction/Compilation Film honor.
