Dacoit Update: Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur starrer action-romantic thriller Dacoit has been creating buzz for several reasons, one of them being the casting. Initially, Shruti Haasan was announced as the female lead of the movie. However, reports emerged that the actress had walked out of the project over creative differences. Following these rumours, Mrunal Thakur was announced as the new lead. This announcement further fueled the speculations about a rift between Shruti and the Dacoit team. Amid this buzz, Adivi Sesh has finally broken his silence and put all the rumours surrounding Shruti Haasan’s exit to rest.

Adivi Sesh got candid about his upcoming movie Dacoit and its casting controversy. On Rajesh Manne’s podcast, he clarified that there’s no big controversy behind Shruti Haasan’s exit. He said, “It just didn’t work out. Also too many things like working styles. And also, she’s very busy with Coolie. So it was very amicable and friendly. It takes me a lot of time to make a film. So, not everyone will sync with that process. Really, that’s the reason why. There’s no big controversy behind it."

He also praised Mrunal and revealed how he liked her work after watching her in Sita Ramam.

About Dacoit: The action thriller revolves around the story of a convict seeking vengeance on his former girlfriend who betrayed him. He is being chased by Anurag Kashyap, who plays a cop. The movie unfolds intense action, drama and gripping face-offs. Directed by Shaneil Deo, marking his directorial debut, Dacoit is backed by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang. The movie is presented by Annapurna Studios. The screenplay of the movie is jointly penned by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Interestingly, the movie is shot in Hindi and Telugu. It is slated for worldwide release on December 25.

Apart from Dacoit, Adivi Sesh will be seen in the highly anticipated sequel to Goodachari, G2. The film which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Banita Sandhu and Emraan Hashmi.
