Actress Shriya Saran has issued a statement alerting everyone about a WhatsApp impersonator using her identity to contact people in the industry. The fake account has been reaching out to industry insiders for work. The actress exposed the account by sharing a screenshot on her social media handle. This comes just a few days after actress Aditi Rao Hydari shared a similar incident. She reported that someone was using her name and messaging photographers about photoshoots.
Shriya Saran Falls Victim To WhatsApp Impersonation
Taking to Instagram, Shriya shared a note along with the impersonator account details. Her post read, "Who ever this idiot is. Please stop writing to people and wasting time! Unfortunately, this is weird. I feel bad for wasting people's time. This is not me! Not my number.
Slamming the impersonator, she added, "On a lighter note the only good thing is , this crapy person is reaching out to people I admire and would love to work with! Very strange! Why would you, waste your time to do this? Go get a life, not someone’s impersonator."

Aditi Rao Hydari On Impersonator Using Her Identity
On November 16, Aditi, on her Instagram handle, wrote, "I wanted to flag something that a few people brought to my notice today. Someone has been pretending to be me on WhatsApp, using my pictures and messaging photographers about ‘photoshoots’. It isn’t me. I don’t reach out like this, and I don’t use any personal number for work. Everything always goes through my team. Please be careful and don’t engage with that number. If you come across anything odd, just let my team know. Thank you to all those who have my back and are so protective and kind."
This has once again raised concern about the misuse of identities without consent on digital platforms.
